Recently, 2023 Baosteel Education Award was announced. Professor Zheng Shubin, Dean of School of Higher Vocational Education of SUES was awarded “Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award”.
Since joining SUES, Professor Zheng Shubin has held various positions such as department head, vice dean, and dean. He has always fought at the forefront of teaching and research, playing a active role in educating and nurturing talents. In recent years, he has actively promoted the implementation of a series of major education and teaching reform projects, deepened curriculum and education reform, and effectively improved the quality of talent cultivation, centering around major and disciplinary construction and guiding student innovation activities. He has established an ASIIN international certification system to guarantee the quality of vocational education, promoting the reform and development of vocational education with the engineering education teaching philosophy of “student-centered, output oriented, and continuous improvement”, constructing a “World Skills Competition Base”, deepening the integration of industry and education, organizing and implementing the construction of the first batch of Shanghai Municipal Industry-Education Complex, and creating a high-level talent training highland.
Baosteel Education Award is a major public welfare project supported by Baosteel Education Fund for higher education in China. Since Baosteel established the Baosteel Education Award in 14 universities nationwide in 1990, it has been awarded once a year, including five prizes: Baosteel Excellent Student Award, Baosteel Excellent Student Special Award, Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award, Baosteel Excellent Teacher Special Award, and Baosteel Excellent Teacher Outstanding Award. In 2023, a total of 271 teachers and 498 students won Baosteel Education Award, with Professor Zheng Shubin being one of them.
