On the afternoon of May 24, 2024 Outstanding Graduation Design Show of International Institute of Creative Design opened at Shanghai Pudong Library. Guests attending the opening ceremony include SUES President Yu Tao, representatives of external cooperation units, representatives of South Korean partner institutions, as well as directors of relevant functional departments of SUES, Chinese and Korean deans, and representatives of teachers and students of the Institute.
At the opening ceremony, President Yu Tao indicated in his speech that the theme of the graduation design exhibition “Boundless Design” includes not only the boundlessness of technology and art, but also the boundlessness of culture. He expressed his blessings to all graduates and wished all graduates great prospects. President Yu Tao, representatives of enterprises and the Chinese and Korean deans of the Institute jointly announced the official opening of 2024 Graduation Design Show of International Institute of Creative Design.
Chang Jekuk, President of Dongseo University, South Korea, delivered a speech in which he expected graduates to understand the value of visual culture through this show and contribute to the development of the media design industry.
Gu Yi, Dean of International Institute of Creative Design, and his Korean counterpart Kim Chongki, jointly sent a message to the graduates, hoping that the students will uphold the spirit of IICD and shine after going to work. Directors of SUES’ functional departments awarded certificates for the outstanding designs of the 2024 graduates.
This exhibition showcased the designs of 50 undergraduates and 14 master students graduating from International Institute of Creative Design in 2024. These creative designs reflect the blurry boundaries between man and nature, reality and imagination, intelligence and humanity in an ever-changing society, and thereby creating the inspiration and imagination of art and design in the digital age. The creators use images, installations, animations, interaction and other media to interweave and reflect each other, in an effort to construct an organic complex system in a simulated landscape, crossing the boundary of life in the process of change, so that the folded truth emerges. The 64 works focus on the specific display of digital and artificial intelligence technology in practical application, using technology to transcend the limitations of the body, and using time to transcend the limitations of space, so as to capture new perceptions and new experiences of matter and spirit.
