SUES Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs and School of Materials Science and Engineering jointly organized a summer thematic exchange program with Lunghwa University of Science and Technology from Taiwan Province, in order to deepen educational cooperation between faculty and students across Taiwan Strait and promote mutual learning and exchange among young talents. From July 6 to 7 and July 14 to 15, SUES hosted two delegations totaling 38 faculty members and students from Lunghwa University of Science and Technology for exchange activities. Representatives from the Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs and key faculty members from School of Materials Science and Engineering participated in the event.
During the visit, SUES meticulously arranged cultural tours, faculty-student discussions, academic exchanges, and campus visits. At the symposium, Li Cong from the Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Technology Affairs reviewed the history of collaboration and achievements between the two universities. He proposed further deepening cooperation through faculty and student exchanges, joint laboratory initiatives, and summer innovation camps to actively contribute to cross-strait educational exchange and mutual learning among young people. Zhang Yan, Vice Dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering, introduced SUES’ profile and highlighted the School’s distinctive achievements in talent cultivation, scientific innovation, and industry-education integration. During the exchange, faculty from both universities engaged in in-depth discussions on curriculum optimization, innovative experimental teaching models, and scientific research, etc. The visiting delegation toured the teaching facilities and laboratories, speaking highly of SUES’ industry-education integration model. The teachers and students from Lunghwa University of Science and Technology remarked that Shanghai’s development and traditional culture left a profound impression on them, and they look forward to deeper collaboration and long-term exchanges in related fields.
It is reported that over 40 teachers and students from SUES School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering will visit Lunghwa University of Science and Technology in early August for a two-week professional training and exchange program. Moving forward, both sides will continue to expand cooperation in talent cultivation, joint teaching, and industrial services, building an outstanding platform to foster cross-strait youth exchange.
