Recently, the Office of National Education Science Planning Leading Group announced the list of approved projects for the 2025 National Education Science Planning (a dedicated educational science project under the National Social Science Fund). The project application titled Research on the Evolution of Organizational Patterns and Institutional Restructuring of Industry-Academia Collaborative Innovation from the Perspective of New Quality Productivity Development, led by Zhao Jun, Deputy Director of the Institute of Higher Education at SUES, has been successfully approved as a National General Project.
The National Education Science Planning Project is the most prestigious, authoritative, and influential academic research initiative in the field of education in China. This approval marks the first time in nine years that SUES has secured a national-level project in this category, signifying a new breakthrough in the SUES’ research capabilities in the field of educational science. It holds great importance for promoting interdisciplinary development in education and enhancing academic influence.
The project closely aligns with the national strategic direction of developing new quality productivity, with the core objective of improving the effectiveness of industry-academia collaborative innovation. It delves into key issues such as the evolution of organizational patterns and institutional restructuring. The research focuses on addressing the following aspects: the mechanisms by which institutional dependencies, cognitive inertia, and resource barriers constrain the effectiveness of industry-academia collaboration; how to build dynamically adaptable industry-academia cooperation models through policy coordination; and how industry-academia collaboration can transition from traditional cooperation paradigms to innovative ecological networks, along with the pathways to achieve this transformation. The expected outcomes of the research will provide theoretical support and practical strategies for the deep integration of industry and academia in the new era.
In recent years, the Office of Scientific Research at SUES has placed great emphasis on the application and cultivation of national-level projects. Centered on the SUES’ development strategy and aligned with disciplinary characteristics and faculty research needs, the Office has systematically planned and implemented multi-dimensional measures. Through refined application guidance, promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration, and a series of other initiatives, it has comprehensively enhanced the quality of project applications and academic competitiveness. Moving forward, SUES will continue to strengthen full-process services and support for high-level scientific research projects, further promoting the deep integration of science and education, and injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the university and the regional economy and society.
