On the afternoon of June 9, the general technical meeting for heads of delegations and coaches of the Shanghai 2024 FISU World University Championship Futsal was held.

 

Attendees included FISU Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the International Supervision, Control and Arbitration Committee of FISU (CISCA) Sami Alphonse Garabetian; President of the FISU American University Sports Federation and Chairman of the FISU Futsal Technical Committee Alim Rachid Maluf Neto; FISU Medical Committee Member Zhang Hong; Chief Referee Massimo Cambo; FISU Championships and World Cups Sport Manager Alejandro Guerra Urbistondo; and Zhu Xiaoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai University of Engineering Science, and Vice Chairwoman and Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee. The meeting was hosted by Wang Jiangang, Deputy Director of the External Liaison Office of the China Student Sports Federation.



Zhu Xiaoqing opened the general technical meeting with a welcome address. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, she extended a warm welcome to all attendees and thanked FISU and CSSF for their guidance and support. She expressed gratitude to all participating teams for their active involvement in the Shanghai 2024 FISU World University Championship Futsal and looked forward to future collaborations to further international university sports development.

 

The meeting covered several key areas, including the current status of event preparations, medical and anti-doping requirements, competition regulations, rule interpretations, and the confirmation of team uniforms for the group stage matches.



The championship will feature 21 university futsal teams from 16 countries and regions across five continents, including 14 men's teams and 7 women's teams. All preparations are complete, with venues fully maintained and upgraded to meet competition standards. All personnel and logistical support have been finalized, and facilities and equipment have been confirmed and tested through a test match involving the Chinese university national team.


The meeting was attended by heads of various departments of the Organizing Committee, heads of delegations and coaches of the participating teams, and international and domestic technical officials.
