On June 7, the first meeting between the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the Shanghai 2024 FISU World University Championship Futsal Organizing Committee was held. Chairman of the Organizing Committee, President Yu Tao, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. Vice Chairwoman and Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee, Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing, provided an update on the preparations for the event. Representatives attending the meeting included FISU CISCA Chairman Sami Alphonse Garabetian and President of the FISU American University Sports Federation Alim Rachid Maluf Neto. The meeting was hosted by Yan Yuetong, Director of the External Liaison Department of the China Student Sports Federation (CSSF).
President Yu Tao warmly welcomed everyone on behalf of the university and expressed heartfelt thanks to FISU and CSSF for their support and guidance during the preparation process. He emphasized that the university highly values the opportunity to host this event, has made comprehensive preparations, and is confident in hosting a successful, exciting, and memorable championship.
Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing introduced the basic situation of the participating teams, the progress of the event preparations, and the key tasks for the championship.
FISU CISCA Chairman Sami highly praised the university’s proactive and efficient preparation work. The attending FISU officials engaged in discussions and interactions with the members of the university's organizing committee.
