Course Diploma Awarding Ceremony for the Sino-Swiss Graduates 2024 Held

Course Diploma Awarding Ceremony for Sino-Swiss Graduates 2024 of the International Business (Tourism and Business Management) Program was held on the afternoon of June 18 at the Sijin Hall of the Hongkou Campus of SUES. This program is a cooperation between School of Higher Vocational Education of SUES and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons in the field of tourism management, and this year marks the seventh graduating class of the program.

 


Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai, Mr. Istvan KOCSIS, Deputy Head of the Culture, Media and Education Section, Ms. Heidi Zhang, Vice President of SUES, Xia Chunming, President of the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, Jürg Kessler, Director of the Institute for Tourism and Leisure, Prof. Dr. Patric Arn, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of SUES, Wang Qin, Secretary of the CPC Committee of School of Higher Vocational Education, Wang Zhenjun, and Dean of School of Higher Vocational Education and Director of the Sino-Swiss Cooperative Education Program, Zheng Shubin, attended the awarding ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by all the Sino-Swiss graduates of the 2021 class, representatives of parents, and representatives of Chinese faculty members. The meeting was chaired by School of Higher Vocational Education Vice Dean and Deputy Director of the Sino-Swiss Cooperative Education Program, Xiao Qian.

 


Vice President Xia Chunming first welcomed the guests in his speech and pointed out that SUES has always adhered to the concept of open education and actively implemented an international development strategy. SUES has actively expanded cooperation with well-known and application-oriented universities around the world, continuously expanding its circle of cooperation. He highlighted the achievements of the Program’s 10th anniversary and expressed gratitude to the faculty members from both universities for their hard work. He expressed that the new round of cooperation agreement just completed by the Sino-Swiss cooperative education program is another new starting point for the cooperation and expressed the sincerest wishes and encouragement to the Sino-Swiss cooperative education graduates of 2024.

 

Mr. Istvan KOCSIS noted in his speech that China and Switzerland will celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025, and expressed hope for further deepening of their innovative strategic partnership. He also extended his best wishes to the students.

 

Vice President Xia Chunming and Mr. Istvan KOCSIS jointly presented the Sino-Swiss course diplomas to the students.

 

Jürg Kessler and Prof. Dr. Patric Arn conveyed their warm congratulations via video, emphasizing the value they place on the over 10 years of partnership in the Sino-Swiss cooperative education program.

 


On behalf of School of Higher Vocational Education and the Sino-Swiss Cooperative Education Program, Zheng Shubin reported on the achievements of the past year, commended the efforts of the program, and extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates.

 


Among the Sino-Swiss cooperative education graduates of the 2021 class, two students have been admitted to the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons and will continue to study for a bachelor's degree in Chur, Switzerland this September. Wang Qin and Wang Zhenjun handed out admission notices to the two students and gave them bouquets of sunflowers, wishing them a bright and promising future.

 


After the ceremony, Vice President Xia Chunming accompanied Deputy Consul General Istvan KOCSIS to visit several practical training centers of the School.

 


The course diploma awarding ceremony concluded successfully. This event not only marked the deepening cooperation between the two universities but also strengthened the friendly exchanges between China and Switzerland.
