2nd Sino-Swiss Joint Management Committee Meeting for 2020 Held

On November 10, SUES and Fachhochschule Graubünden (FHGR) held the second Sino-Swiss Joint Management Committee Video Conference for 2020. Li Jiang, Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee, and Jürg Kessler, President of FHGR, attended the meeting. Heads of SUES International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Advanced Vocational Technical College and members of the management committee of FHGR attended the meeting.



Dr. Li Jiang expressed his warm greetings to President Jürg Kessler and congratulated FHGR on its tremendous development in the past year. Dr. Li pointed out that it was very gratifying to see that with the joint efforts of both sides, the cooperative education program was still developing smoothly and orderly in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Li put forward the following hopes for the further development of the cooperative education program: First, we continue to work together to improve the quality of teaching in the new situation; second, we persist in the cultivation of high-quality international talents and continue to optimize the cooperation and training mode between the two sides; third, we further broaden the areas of cooperation and expanding cooperative research programs in order to obtain more scientific achievements.




FHGR President Jürg Kessler affirmed the cooperation achievements of the two universities and hoped that the two sides would further expand their cooperation. He proposed to carry out UNWTO accreditation for Sino-Swiss cooperation majors, so as to promote the establishment of double degree programs. In addition, he also proposed peer review for Sino-Swiss cooperative programs.

At the meeting, the members listened attentively to the reports on the cooperation in the second half of 2020 from the aspects of student training, budget, curriculum adjustment, faculty mutual visits, teaching quality management, etc. by Dean Shen Qin, director of Sino-Swiss cooperation program, Thorsten Merkle, provost of College of Innovation FHGR, and PatricArn, provost of College of Tourism FHGR. They also had in-depth discussions on the adjustment of members of the joint management committee, the improvement and evaluation of teaching quality, the expansion of cooperation areas, and finance, and reached a number of consensuses.
