Students from School of Materials Science and Engineering, SUES won the first prize in the 13th National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students

On July 29th, the 13th National College Students’ Metallographic Skills Competition and the 2nd National College Students’ Metallographic Conference, organized by Higher Education Material Science Teaching Advisory Committee of Ministry of Education and hosted by Huanggang Normal University, concluded successfully. School of Materials Science and Engineering of SUES organized dedicated teachers to provide meticulous guidance and training. Through university-level competition and competition in the Shanghai municipal contest, students Huang Yu, Chen Zheyuan, and Yang Shihong stood out and represented SUES in the national finals held in Huanggang, Hubei, winning one first prize and one second prize. It is reported that this competition reached an unprecedented scale, with finalists from 531 universities, including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Tongji University, competing for 250 first prize slots.




The National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students is the highest standard, most comprehensive, and most influential event in the material science discipline. It requires participating students to possess solid foundational knowledge, excellent practical skills, and a focused craftsman spirit. Through inter-university exchanges, the competition aims to cultivate students’ metallographic skills and hands-on abilities, continuously improving the quality of talent training in the material science discipline.
