On the morning of July 30, SUES President Yu Tao, also the Chairman of the Alumni Association of SUES, and his delegation visited Jiang Jun, Vice President of SAIC Group and CEO of IM Motors, and had cordial talks and exchanges. Jiang Jun studied at SUES from 1988 with a major in automotive engineering (German) and graduated with excellent grades in 1992. Wang Jiajie, Director of the President's Office, and Fang Yu, Dean of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, also participated in the visit.
President Yu Tao, accompanied by SUES alumni Jiang Jun, visited IM Motors exhibition hall and listened to his explanation and introduction of the latest representative models and autonomous driving technology. Yu Tao expressed that the rapid development and progress of domestically produced smart cars are clearly visible, and the outstanding achievements of the team led by alumnus Jiang Jun make the alma mater especially happy and proud. President Yu Tao briefly introduced the discipline layout, SUES running scale, program characteristics and outstanding achievements of SUES in recent years, which has been closely combined with Shanghai's 3+6 new industrial system. He pointed out that SUES has trained and delivered many outstanding graduates for SAIC Group and other leading manufacturing enterprises over the years, and will continue to work hard in the future to train more applied innovative talents with international vision for the society.
Jiang Jun warmly welcomed the visit of President Yu Tao and his delegation. He briefly introduced the development of the company and its R&D breakthroughs in the field of intelligent vehicles. He expressed his sincere thanks to his alma mater for its careful cultivation, congratulated his alma mater on its new progress, and looked forward to more fruitful cooperation between the university and enterprise in automotive discipline optimization, industry-university-research projects, personnel training, achievement transformation, student employment and other aspects.
Both sides expressed that they would further strengthen communication and cooperation in the future, and work together to create a new vision of high-quality development through mutual empowerment and reciprocal efforts between the university and the enterprise.
