On August 12th, the RoboMaster 2024 Super Alliance Competition of the National College Students’ Robotics Contest concluded in Shenzhen. Over 3,000 contestants from 59 universities competed fiercely, with the Birdiebot team from SUES winning the national second prize.
In the 2024 season, facing new rules, the Birdiebot team from SUES made technological breakthroughs and optimized their existing robots. In the resurrection matches, the Birdiebot team defeated Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University, the University of Science and Technology of China, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, each with a score of 2:0, and overcame Dalian University of Technology with a score of 2:1 to advance to the national competition. With a record of 5 wins and 1 loss, they were one of only four teams to successfully resurrect.
In the group stage of the national competition, the Birdiebot team continued to uphold their team’s declaration of “Soaring Upwards, Fighting to the End”, remaining calm and composed in the face of challenges. They opened with a 2:0 victory over Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai), making a strong debut, and subsequently secured a spot among the top 32, ultimately winning the national second prize. Along the path to advancement, the team overcame the challenges posed by the transition between old and new members and the iteration of technology. The experienced members guided the newcomers through rigorous preparation, fully demonstrating the students' unwavering dedication and spirited pursuit of technological excellence.
