Ceremony Held for the Handover of the “Adora Magic City” Ship Model

On October 28, SUES and China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Cruise Technology Development Co., Ltd. held a ceremony for the handover of the “Adora Magic City” ship model on Songjiang campus, marking a new milestone in university-industry cooperation. The event was attended by Li Jiang, Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee, Shi Jianyong, SUES leader, Yang Guobing, Chairman of China Cruise Technology Development Co. and Adora Cruises, along with Zhou Jie, Secretary of CPC Committee of School of Management Studies, and Hu Bin, Dean of School of Management Studies. SUES leader Shi Jianyong presided over the ceremony.



Together, Li Jiang and Yang Guobing unveiled the Adora Magic City cruise ship model, symbolizing the partnership. The company also transferred the large-scale ship model to SUES as a showcase of collaborative achievements, making China Cruise Technology Development a co-founder of SUES’ Virtual Simulation and Practical Training Center for Cruise Tourism and Management.



Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee Li Jiang expressed gratitude to China Cruise Technology Development Co. for its strong support. He highlighted SUES’ talent cultivation model and industry-academia cooperation, including the nation’s first undergraduate and graduate programs in cruise economics. Li proposed that, while SUES supplies talents to the company, China Cruise Technology Development could provide strong support in practice-oriented teaching and research innovation, facilitating a seamless integration of educational resources with industry practices.



Chairman Yang Guobing expressed appreciation for SUES’ support and outlined the development and scope of Adora Cruises, which encompasses the full cruise industry chain from shipbuilding to operations and talent development. He expressed enthusiasm for deepening cooperation with SUES in training cruise industry professionals and conducting industry research to foster mutual benefits and propel industry growth.
