Opening Ceremony of the New Site for International Institute of Creative Design Held

On the afternoon of October 25th, International Institute of Creative Design (IICD) held an opening ceremony for its new site at the lecture hall on the first floor of the Industry-Education Integration Building on Changning Campus. The event was attended by President Yu Tao, Vice President Xia Chunming; Korean guests including Park Dongsoon (Dongseo Educational Foundation Chancellor, Dongseo University), Vice President Kim Jungsun, Dean Kyung Byungpyo from Kongju National University; guests from cooperative units such as Shanghai Literature Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine; heads of relevant functional departments from SUES, all faculty members of IICD, and all freshmen of the 2024 academic year. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Xia Chunming.



President Yu Tao congratulated IICD on its relocation to the new site. The new site provides a brighter and more modern learning environment for faculty and students, injecting new vitality into the Institute's development. He expressed his vision for the Institute's future development with three keywords: NICE, standing for New Innovation, New Collaboration, and New Eden. NI represents conducting interdisciplinary research to promote knowledge and technological innovation to adapt to global challenges, utilizing new technologies like AI to solve language issues for international students. C signifies continuing to deepen the experiences and achievements of Sino-Korean cooperative education with Korean partners, exploring new models of international industry-education-research cooperation, and cultivating more high-quality talents with international competitiveness. E encourages students to actively participate in international social practices to enhance their professional knowledge and cross-cultural communication skills.




Chang Jekuk, President of Dongseo University, and Lim Kyeongho, President of Kongju National University, specially recorded congratulatory videos, expressing their expectations for a brighter future for Sino-Korean cooperative education.




During the ceremony, President Yu Tao awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards to Dean Kim Chongki and Dean Kyung Byungpyo from Korea. Chancellor Park Dongsoon presented Outstanding Contribution Awards to former Chinese deans Ren Lihan, Tang Youchun, and Wang Ruyi, expressing the deepest respect and gratitude for their long-term outstanding contributions to the Institute's development.



Li Yunxian, Secretary of the CPC School of Art and Design Committee, and Gu Yi, Dean of IICD, awarded institute badges to representatives of the 2024 freshmen.



Ma Jianli, Deputy Secretary of the CPC School of Art and Design Committee, and Xu Rongrong, Vice Dean of IICD, presented mentor appointments to Zhang Jingying, Director of the TCM Culture Research Center at the Shanghai Literature Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zheng Yuncheng, Vice Chairman of Huanji (Shanghai) Cosmetics Co., Ltd., Wang Yinghui, Director of Human Resources and Administration at Silk Road Visual Technology Co., Ltd., and Chen Su, Director of Talent Development at Boke Technology Group Co., Ltd.



After the ceremony, the guests jointly toured the new site of IICD located at the Industry-Education Integration Building on Changning Campus.
