On December 6, College of International Education successfully held a second-hand market with the theme of “Old Things, New Life, Cultural Inheritance” which attracted active participation of teachers and students. This unique activity not only provided a platform for exchange of second-hand goods, but also became a wonderful feast of cultural exchange and language interaction.
Teachers and students from different countries and regions brought a variety of second-hand goods, ranging from books, jewelry to daily necessities, and each item contained a different story behind it. Participants managed to find their favorite treasures and at the same time share their unique cultural backgrounds and life experiences in the interaction, and the College was filled with a rich atmosphere of cross-cultural exchanges.
One of the highlights of the event was the promotion of cultural collision through language exchange. Teachers and students not only increased their understanding of each other in the exchange of goods, but also improved their language expression and cross-cultural communication skills through interaction. The creative promotional videos produced by each class demonstrated their own characteristics and creativity, attracting more students to participate in them and adding a lot of color and enthusiasm to the event.
The second-hand market activity Old Things, New Life, Cultural Inheritance promotes environmental protection and sustainable development, and encourages everyone to cherish things and reduce waste. In this event, many items found new owners, and every participant deeply felt the importance of environmental awareness.
Teachers and students said, This activity exceeded our expectations. We not only found items, but more importantly, friendship and cultural collision. We hope to participate in more similar activities to enhance cross-cultural understanding and communication among all of us.
