The Forum on Innovative Cultivation of Talents in the Silver Economy and Elderly Care Service Management Successfully Held

On December 8th, the Forum on Innovative Cultivation of Talents in the Silver Economy and Elderly Care Service Management, hosted by Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) and Shanghai Open University (SOU), and co-organized by School of Management Studies of SUES, Shanghai Silver Economy Research Center, and Shanghai Social Security Research Center, was successfully held at SUES.



Professor Shi Jianyong, representing SUES, extended a sincere welcome to the guests and introduced the SUES' development history, educational philosophy, educational model, and talent cultivation characteristics. He hoped that this inaugural forum on the silver economy would serve as a professional platform for experts, entrepreneurs, scholars, and students in the elderly care industry to exchange ideas, stimulate academic discussion, and inspire thinking.



Chen Yuebin, a Second-Level Inspector from Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, delivered the opening report titled “The Foundation of Elderly Care Team Building”. Professor Zhang Jin, Vice President of SOU, introduced the development and construction path of SOU in the field of elderly care education. Xu Qihua, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Elderly Care Service and Aging Industry Association, presented a report on “Developing the Silver Economy with Talent as the Driving Force”. Tan Yiliang, Chairman of Jiuru Group, explained the goal of showcasing the charm of the silver-aged population and achieving lifelong growth in his speech on “The Silver Bell Industry Marching Towards the Future”. Professor Shi Jianyong discussed the connotative characteristics of the silver economy in his presentation titled “Innovative Cultivation Mode of Talents in the Silver Economy and Elderly Care Service Management”, and introduced the innovative practice mode and cultivation achievements of SUES' elderly care service management talent cultivation program.



Fan Jun, Dean of School of Public Welfare at SOU, presided over the round-table forum. Feng Jianguang, Chairman of the Yangtze River Delta Elderly Care Service Promotion Center, Xu Yafeng, General Manager of Sinopharm Kangyang Industrial Co., Ltd., Lu Zhen, General Manager of Taikang Community Shenyuan, Liu Weiwei, HR Manager of Shanghai Renshoutang Elderly Care Service Group Co., Ltd., and Professor Luo Juan, Vice Dean of School of Management Studies of SUES, engaged in discussions on the development of the silver-aged industry and the cultivation of educational talents.

 

The forum invited faculty members from universities, researchers in related fields such as elderly care, household management, and social work, representatives from industry associations, and representatives from service agencies. Through insightful keynote reports and round-table discussions, the forum provided participants with new ideas and methods for the development direction of the silver-aged industry and the innovative development of elderly care service management talent cultivation, thereby promoting the high-quality development of China’s elderly care industry.
