On the afternoon of December 18, College of International Education held an unveiling ceremony for its new site on the seventh floor of the Industry-Education Integration Building on Changning Campus. Vice President Xia Chunming attended the event, along with heads of relevant functional departments from SUES, all faculty members of College of International Education, and representatives of international students, together witnessing this significant moment as the College embarked on a new chapter.
Vice President Xia Chunming congratulated College of International Education on its smooth relocation to the new site, expressed full affirmation of the College’s achievements over the past five years, and conveyed earnest expectations for its future development. He proposed that College of International Education should continue to uphold the educational philosophy of “openness and inclusivity, mutual learning and mutual respect”, deepen exchanges and cooperation with renowned domestic and international enterprises and universities, strengthen industry-education integration capabilities, innovate talent cultivation models, continuously expand international student programs, strive to build a diversified and international education ecosystem, and cultivate more high-quality talents with international competitiveness. This will contribute more significantly to achieving SUES’ international strategic goals, promoting high-quality development of SUES’ international education exchanges, and serving the national Belt and Road initiative and local economic and social development.
Wang Qin, Dean of College of International Education, expressed sincere gratitude to the SUES leaders and various functional departments for their long-term guidance and strong support to the College. She stated that College of International Education will closely focus on SUES’ industry-education integration characteristics, aiming to cultivate international students with understanding and affections for China, and strive to build the “Study at SUES” brand. The College will establish a “language + culture + academics” integrated education model, actively encouraging international students to serve as bridges for promoting Sino-foreign exchanges and enhancing Sino-foreign friendships.
After the unveiling ceremony, SUES leaders toured the new site of College of International Education, viewed an exhibition of photographs and artworks showcasing international students’ campus life and learning experiences, and warmly greeted the faculty members and students.
