Zhao Zhen extended Chinese New Year greetings to the teachers and students. He pointed out that 2025 is the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the preparatory year for the 15th Five-Year Plan. It is also a year of comprehensive layout and high-level advancement towards the goal of building China into a powerful education nation by 2035. Universities should provide strong support for accelerating the construction of Shanghai into an internationally influential socialist modernized metropolis with global influence.
In his speech, Xu Yang said that this event is a heartwarming collaboration among universities in Shanghai's southwest district, aimed at strengthening the bond between teachers and students and deepening inter-university exchanges. In 2025, SUES will anchor its high-quality development goals and follow the development path of strengthening the university through talents, pursuing distinctive development, and internationalization. He also hopes that students will continue to climb the peaks of academic achievement, continuously improve themselves in moral cultivation, actively contribute to social practice, and strive to become socialist builders and successors who are well-rounded in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor aspects.
Campus innovation experience activities such as robot interactions and mech battles showcased SUES' academic advantages and educational characteristics. Activities like writing Spring Festival couplets, posting Chinese Fu characters, and creating intangible cultural heritage Chinese New Year paintings, paper-cutting, and pyrography immersed teachers and students in the lively atmosphere of traditional culture.
Performances by teachers and students, such as NEWBOY and Harmonious Xinjiang, expressed enthusiastic expectations and good wishes for the Chinese New Year. Musical performances by international students and dance and music presentations by Shanghai University of International Business and Economics demonstrated the passionate collision of multiculturalism. Saxophone ensemble Spring Festival Overture, traditional Chinese music ensemble Ten Thousand Borders, magic performance Magic Rope, and dance medley repeatedly pushed the atmosphere on site to a climax.
The attending leaders presented Chinese New Year gift packs and Chinese New Year dinner vouchers to students staying on campus.
