On March 24, Dr. Tzu-Hsiang Ko, President of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, led a delegation to SUES. Secretary of CPC SUES Committee Li Jiang and Vice President Xia Chunming welcomed the distinguished guests, joined by representatives from the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs, the Graduate School, and School of Materials Science and Engineering.
Li Jiang welcomed the delegation and introduced SUES’ progress in three aspects, namely talent cultivation, characterized development, and internationalization. He spoke highly of the strong partnership forged between the two universities, noting that faculty and student exchanges in recent years have laid a solid foundation to deepening collaboration. He believed that regular exchanges between the two partners will set an example for cross-strait higher education integration.
Xia Chunming reviewed the successful collaborations so far and suggested “deepening cooperation, expanding scope, and instilling warmth in collaboration.” He looked forward to more diverse and high-level joint initiatives for faculty and students.
Dr. Tzu-Hsiang Ko expressed gratitude for the warm reception and welcomed SUES’ proposals. He affirmed Lunghwa’s support for long-term exchange programs and envisioned a shared platform for innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge exchange.
Wang Qin, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs, Wang Jinguo, Dean of the Graduate School and Li Jun, Dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering discussed ongoing projects and future prospects respectively. After the meeting, Dr. Ko and his delegation had an informal discussion with faculty members and students from School of Materials Science and Engineering. With joint efforts, the partnership between SUES and Lunghwa University of Science and Technology will continue to grow, making even greater contributions to cross-strait education development.
