SUES was awarded 2 Professional Technical Service Platforms of Shanghai 2021

Recently, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai released the Notice of Shanghai 2021 Proposed Projects for Professional and Technical Service Platforms, with a total of 23 platforms were funded. Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) is the only one to be awarded two platforms at the same time, which are: Shanghai Digital Transformation Design and Verification Professional Technical Service Platform for Manufacturing Industry by Prof. Fang Zhijun from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Shanghai Laser Intelligent Manufacturing and Quality Inspection Professional Technical Service Platform by Prof. Yang Shanglei from the School of Materials Engineering.


The Shanghai Digital Transformation Design and Verification Professional Technical Service Platform for Manufacturing Industry focuses on the four major technical problems of manufacturing industry: difficulty in acquiring high-quality industrial data, difficulty in constructing industrial mechanism and knowledge, difficulty in data value analyzing, and difficulty in managing data assets, which builds a professional technology service platform for industrial digital transformation, and  develops four core technologies including collection and governance of massive data in manufacturing, industrial mechanism modeling and knowledge construction, data- and knowledge-driven reasoning and decision making driven by data and knowledge, and digital twin factory construction in manufacturing.


The Shanghai Laser Intelligent Manufacturing and Quality Inspection Professional Technology Service Platform focuses on the “Made in China 2025” strategy of manufacturing power, the 14th Five-Year Plan for the development of Shanghai's advanced manufacturing industry, and effectively serves the development needs of Shanghai's high-end equipment key industrial clusters, the G60 Science and Innovation Corridor and the Yangtze River Delta region's advanced manufacturing industry. Adhering to the development concept of gathering resources, forming teams, developing technologies, transferring results and providing public services, the service platform effectively integrates resources related to laser intelligent manufacturing and testing, efficiently utilizes the laser center's excellent talents and key technology service capabilities, enhances the University's laser intelligent manufacturing and quality testing services to the society, which in turn supports the cultivation of doctoral degree in the major of Mechanical Engineering in SUES , the construction of master's degree in related disciplines and the training of undergraduate students.
