Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued The Notice on Announcing the List of National and Provincial First-class Undergraduate Majors in 2021, which unveiled the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate majors in 2021. In the list, 6 majors of SUES were newly selected as national first-class undergraduate majors and 13 majors were newly selected as Shanghai’s first-class undergraduate majors.
Up to now, SUES has been approved 13 national first-class undergraduate major construction points and 19 Shanghai’s first-class undergraduate major construction points. That means, among the 64 undergraduate majors at SUES, 50% of them are construction points of first-class undergraduate majors at municipal level or above.
In the next stage, SUES will focus on effective moral education and continue to deepen the construction of first-class undergraduate majors so as to give full play to their demonstration and radiation effects. We will improve the overall level of undergraduate majors and meet the new round assessment of undergraduate education by the Ministry of Education. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, SUES will deepen the reform of undergraduate education, further highlight the integration of industry and education, innovate the talent training mode of school-enterprise cooperation, continuously boost the cultivation of high-quality applied talents, and fully promote the efficient development of SUES.
