“2022 Excellent Lecturer” English-taught Courses: Expanding International Vision and Cultivating All-around Talents

Nurturing the Sense of Professionalism


The course Air-to-ground Communication (English-taught), taught by Ms. Peiqi Li of  School of Air Transportation (School of Flying), is designed to help students master all the procedures and terminology specified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), so that they can be competent to communicate in English in flight and train high-quality international flight talents. This course, English-taught, uses an international interactive and inspiring teaching method that emphasizes students' participation and willingness to present themselves in an all-English environment and is highly appreciated by students and fully recognized by employers, with increasing graduate satisfaction.



In the course Crew Resource Management”, Ms. Du Lijuan expanded students' knowledge about the performance, structure and systems of small aircrafts through a large number of flight cases in the initial teaching stage. She optimized the allocation of course resources, improved the course content, helped students pass the interview of domestic and foreign flight schools at a high level, and adapt to the English language environment of foreign flight schools as soon as possible, effectively broadening students' international vision and improving their international competitiveness.



Cultivating Cultural Awareness


In the course College English Speaking, Ms. Nie Hui of School of Foreign Languages uses the interactive, timely and inspirational functions of language teaching to explore the core values, humanistic spirit, engineering ethics, and other moral connotations contained in the topics, and to cultivate composite New Engineering talents with core qualities such as national sentiment, global vision, cross-cultural communication, and critical thinking. Adhering to this teaching philosophy, the teachers aim to improve the English communication skills of science and technology majors, cultivate students' international vision and cross-cultural communication skills, and lay the foundation for students' future international course study, academic exchange, and cross-cultural communication and cooperation in a multicultural work environment.



The course College English Listening, taught by Gao Yanning of School of Foreign Languages, adopts a blended intelligent teaching mode, focusing on the two characteristics of college English: instrumental and humanistic, developing students' global competence in four dimensions: language, cultural awareness, thinking, and learning ability, and cultivating students into composite new engineering talents who are rooted in China, integrated with China and foreign countries, based on the times, facing the future, with both patriotism and international vision.
