SUES’s Sino-German Research Institute of Industry-Education Integration Development officially established

On October 29th, SUES and China Higher Education (Beijing) and Technology Group Co., LTD signed an agreement to Co-build a Sino-German Research Institute of Industry-Education Integrated Development, and the Institute was officially established. Attending the agreement signing ceremony include: SUES Party Secretary Li Jiang; President Yu Tao; Deputy President Xia Chunming; President Zheng Huiqiang of Shanghai Service Federation; Director Liu Zhimin of National Center for Schooling Development Programme; and General Manager Tang Ming of China Higher Education (Beijing) and Technology Group Co., LTD, who was also the chairperson of the event.

Secretary Li Jiang pointed out that the establishment of the Industry-Education Integration Development Institute is a beneficial attempt to explore a new model and a new path for the cultivation of high-level engineering talents, which is of landmark significance for promoting the deepening and transformation of international resources, science and technology, capital, as well as for promoting regional economic development. Secretary Li Jiang put forward three visions for the subsequent development of the Institute: 1) to deepen and jointly innovate a new model of talent nurturing through INDUSTRY; 2) to promote a new system of the integration of industry and education through INTEGRATION; and 3) to expand the breadth of cooperation and bring the think tank platform to a new level through COOPERATION.

President Yu Tao introduced the background of cooperation between the two sides. He stated that the establishment of the Institute provides a broad platform for deepening Industry-Education integration in the future, and also promotes the organic connection of education chain, talent chain, innovation chain and industrial chain. SUES will take the establishment of the Institute as an opportunity to continuously expand the breadth and depth of cooperation and exchanges, and continue to promote exchanges and cooperation between both sides in such fields as education, science and technology, culture.

 


In the presence of all members attending the meeting, SUES signed the agreement to Co-build a Sino-German Research Institute of Industry-Education Integrated Development with China Higher Education (Beijing) and Technology Group Co., LTD. After the signing ceremony, the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sino-German Industry-Education Integration Development Institute was held. The specific implementation of the Institute’s cooperation programs was discussed in depth, and consensus was reached on many topics, which helps strengthen out the development path of the Institute.

 

The Institute aims to implement the State Council’s policy on deepening the integration of industry and education, to build a high-level application-oriented university, and to promote the organic connection between the education chain, talent chain, innovation chain and industrial chain. The Institute will work with affiliated functional departments under the Ministry of Education, German University Consortium for International Cooperations (DHIK), AHK Greater China, leading German enterprises in China, SJTU’s Industry Research Institute and other relevant departments to conduct research on the localization of advanced experience and models of Industry-college-institute Cooperation, promote the practical application of research achievements and gradually build the Institute into a scientific research think tank and service platform integrating information-sharing, research, consulting and services.
