On Oct. 26, the Railway Engineering program received online inspection by German ASIIN accreditation expert members of ASIIN accreditation inspection team: Haldor Jochim, professor of Aachen University of Applied Sciences, Oliver Michler, professor of Dresden University of Technology, Christin Matela, representative of German Federal Railway Engineering Consulting, Zhu Zehua, representative of Shanghai University of Technology, and Yanna Sumkötter, project manager of ASIIN. Representative Zhu Zehua, ASIIN Project Manager Yanna Sumkötter; Yu Tao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, and Xia Chunming, Vice President of the University, attended the inspection meeting. The meeting was chaired by Yanna Sumkötter, Project Manager of ASIIN.
President Yu Tao expressed a warm welcome to the visit of the expert group on behalf of the University, and introduced the overall situation of SUES and the achievements of reform and development in recent years to the experts. He said that the University will fully cooperate with the expert visit of ASIIN certification and welcome the valuable opinions and suggestions from the expert group; the Railway Engineering program will take this certification as an opportunity to actively connect with the international professional construction standards, promote the professional connotation construction, promote the standardization, standardization and scientificization of professional education, further improve the quality of education and teaching and professional construction level, and build a domestic first-class It will further improve the quality of education and teaching and the level of professional construction, and empower and improve the quality of our university to build a high-level modern engineering application-oriented university.
Vice President Xia Chunming introduced the basic situation of our university in teaching and research, international cooperation, special advantages and international accreditation. He said that the Railway Engineering program is gradually changing its education and teaching philosophy, promoting professional construction and overall teaching level to a new level, and striving to cultivate railway transportation professionals with international vision and solid professional ability.
At the meeting, the expert group asked questions about the development plan of the Railway Engineering program in the next 10 years, school-enterprise cooperation, international education, faculty capacity and students' employment, etc. The person in charge of relevant functional departments of the University responded accordingly. The expert group will also carry out a two-day inspection, evaluate the self-assessment report of the major, listen to the report on the construction of the major, meet with the faculty and the head of the major, hold several online seminars for teachers, enterprise heads, graduated alumni and current students, and review the professional examination papers and related documents.
