President of the China Germany Friendship Association(CGFA) and former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Germany Visited the Sino-German Institute of Integration between Industry and Education

On the afternoon of February 14th, Shi Mingde, President of CGFA and former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Germany, and Liu Zhimin, Director of the Innovation and Development Division of the School Planning, Construction and Development Center of the Ministry of Education visited SUES to carry out a survey on the construction of the Sino-German Institute of Integration between Industry and Education and held a forum. Li Jiang, Secretary of SUES Party Committee, Yu Tao, Deputy Secretary of SUES Party Committee and President, and Xia Chunming, Vice President, attended the forum. The forum was presided over by President Yu Tao.


Secretary Li Jiang thanked President Shi Mingde for visiting SUES for survey and guidance. He said that with the strong support and concern of all parties, SUES will vigorously promote all-round and systematic cooperation with German applied universities, German companies and institutions, and take Sino-German educational cooperation as a breakthrough to continuously improve the cultivation, teaching and research of SUES; At the same time, with the Sino-German Institute of Integration between Industry and Education as the platform, we should do a good job in top-level design planning, give full play to Shanghai's regional advantages, and turn the Institute into a demonstration base of Sino-German innovative consortium for industry-university-research that can be popularized and replicated.


President Yu Tao said that the University will firmly promote the construction of the Sino-German Institute of Integration between Industry and Education from the four aspects of industry, university, research, and application, actively explore the road of the integration of industry, education and research between China and Germany, and build SUES into a demonstration base of the Sino-German industry-university-research innovation consortium for application-oriented undergraduate colleges.


President Shi Mingde fully affirmed the preliminary work and future construction plan of the Sino-German Institute of Integration between Industry and Education. He pointed out that the integration between industry and education is an important part of the national education reform, and SUES has the obligation of serving the national strategy. He hoped that the research institute could base itself on Shanghai, serve the whole country and look around the world, pay attention to the construction of cooperation platforms and mechanisms with German universities and institutions, strengthen the systematization and standardization of cooperation, embark on a characteristic road of the integration and development of industry and education between China and Germany, and play an active role in promoting Sino-German education and cultural exchanges.


Director Liu Zhimin said that Sino-German cooperation is in a period of development opportunities, and suggested that the Sino-German Institute of Integration between Industry and Education should strengthen the introduction of German education models and resources, take Sino-German cooperation as the main axis, and actively play the role of experimental field, leader, bridgehead and hub in deepening the innovation of the integration of industry, education and development mechanism, promoting the high-quality development of application-oriented universities, connecting the frontiers of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and building a community for application-oriented universities.


At the meeting, Vice President Xia Chunming introduced the preliminary work and construction plan of the Sino-German Institute of Integration between Industry and Education. Participants had an in-depth discussion and exchange on the construction of Sino-German education cooperation, Shanghai-Yunnan cooperation counterpart support, German program construction, and German Culture Week.


Relevant persons in charge of the Party Committee Office, the President's Office, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Foreign Liaison Office, and the Sino-German Institute of the Integration between Industry and Education attended the meeting.
