The Opening Ceremony of the Chinese Language Program for International Students of the Second Semester of 2022-2023 Academic Year Successfully Held

On the morning of March 2, College of International Education held the opening ceremony and entrance education of the Chinese Language Program for international students of the second semester of 2022-2023 academic year at the Lecture Hall of Changning Campus. Staff from Changning Branch of Bank of China, police officers from Wenbao Branch of Shanghai Public Security Bureau and Shanghai Exit and Entry Administration Bureau were invited to attend the ceremony and make presentations. The event was hosted by Li Yuewen, Vice Dean of College of International Education. All the staff of College of International Education and nearly 100 international students from Changning Campus participated.



Wang Qin, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office and Dean of College of International Education, stated in her speech that she welcomed students to study Chinese language and culture at SUES. She stressed that through the platform of College of International Education, the Chinese Language Program for international students not only focused on teaching Chinese language, but also aimed to promote Chinese culture and exchanges between China and other countries. She hoped the students would see their learning experiences in SUES as a cultural journey, and wish them happiness on the pleasant, warm and beautiful campus.



Valery Kobyak from Belarus spoke as a representative of the outstanding students. She said that studying at SUES helped her sense the unique cultural charm of the China. Studying abroad was a true journey to the east for her. Ms. Gao Lili spoke on behalf of Chinese teachers, introducing the methods of Chinese learning and putting forward specific learning requirements for students. During the session of entrance education, guests gave bilingual presentations on the financial security, laws and regulations and immigration policies for international students. Staff from Bank of China also provided on-site consultation for international students to open accounts.
