The 2023 Student Overseas Study Exchange Program Promotion Held at SUES

The series of activities of Student Overseas Study Exchange Program Promotion is an important task of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office aiming at promoting and encouraging students to study overseas, implementing the development strategy of internationalization, and enhancing students' international vision and global competitiveness.



In order to broaden students' international horizons, help students make overseas study plans, further promote overseas study and exchange programs of SUES, and encourage more students to go out, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office (Office for Hong Kong, Macao &Taiwan Affair) of SUES held a series of activities of 2023 Student Overseas Study Exchange Program Promotion from February 24 to March 10 on Songjiang Campus and Hongkou Campus of SUES, with a total of 1,000 students participating.



Wang Qin, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Zhou Xiaozhou and Li Cong, Deputy Directors of ICEO, and Xia Daiyun, Manager of Student Exchange Programs went to School of Art and Design, School of Textiles and Fashion, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, School of Urban Railway Transportation, School of Management Studies, School of Foreign Languages, School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, School of Air Transportation, and School of Higher Vocational Education, carrying out eight on-site promotion activities.



At the promotion, the promoters of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office stated that SUES always attaches great importance to the international development of students, and actively creates more and higher-quality overseas study and exchange opportunities for students under the premise of ensuring the safety of students. They expected students to actively participate in overseas study and exchanges, broaden their international horizons, grasp international rules, and become globally competitive.



During the activities, the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office also invited some relevant personnel from its overseas partners including Dr. Julia Wang, Director of the International Exchange Office of Liverpool John Moores University, and Tan Yuanyuan, the coordinator of admissions in China of University of California, San Diego, to introduce the characteristics and advantages of their respective universities, providing more references for students to choose suitable programs. Chen Yijun, a student representative who participated in the 2022 UC Santa Barbara Undergraduate Credit Mutual Recognition Project, shared her life and study in the United States and her experience and growth overseas with the students present with vivid language, which sparked the strong interest of the students.



The internationalization of students is an important part of the international development strategy of SUES. In recent years, SUES has continuously strengthened its cooperation with foreign universities by providing joint doctoral training, dual master's and undergraduate degrees, mutual recognition of credits, graduation design, overseas internships, international industry-university cooperation, International Friendship, winter and summer courses, New Youth Global Competency, and other overseas study and exchange programs to build a rich and diverse overseas study and exchange platform for students.
