From April 8 to 10, the 58•59th Higher Education Expo China was held in Chongqing, which was attended by Wu Yan, Vice Minister of Ministry of Education, Du Yubo, President of China Higher Education Association and other leaders. Xia Chunming, Vice President of SUES, was invited to attend this event and delivered a speech entitled Innovative Practice of Collaborative Education of Industry-Teaching Integration at Shanghai University of Engineering Science in the sub-forum of Higher Education Engineering Education with the theme Cultivation of Excellent Engineering Talents at Local Universities on April 10. Rao Pinhua and Tang Yongsheng, Director and Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office respectively, and Deputy Director Liu Chundi with other faculty members like Zhang Yijia from the Faculty Teaching Development Center attended the Expo together.
In the speech, SUES Vice President Xia Chunming introduced the history of SUES's collaborative education and training, and focused on sharing the innovative model of three levels, four synergies and eight fusions of SUES's collaborative education and training around the goal of cultivating high-quality applied talents in the context of the new historical opportunity and SUES’s corresponding accomplishments with this model.
During the expo, Vice President Xia Chunming also led the above-mentioned staff to visit the exhibitions featuring informatization and smart education, characteristic university zone, characteristic competitions, etc., participated in high-level academic conferences and forums on education digitalization, industry-teaching integration, teaching development and innovative talent training of faculty, communicated with relevant experts and technicians to fully understand the application of new products and technologies, and put forward clear requirements and guiding opinions on deepening the reform of education and teaching at SUES.
It is reported that the Higher Education Expo China, formerly known as the National Exhibition of Higher Education Instruments and Equipment founded in the autumn of 1992, has been successfully held for 57 sessions. At present, it has become an important window to show the development achievements of higher education in China, an important bridge for the government, universities and enterprises to cooperate and innovate and seek common development, and a national business card to promote the modernization of higher education. This year's HEEC is themed Uni-Local Convergence•Industry-Teaching Integration: High Quality Development. The main activities consist of high-tech equipment exhibition, high-level conferences and forums, release of Informaionization and high-end results. With an exhibition area of over 120,000 square meters, the event embraced over 1,000 experts and scholars from more than 1,500 universities and more than 10,000 enterprises.
