From April 21 to 23, RoboMaster2023 Mecha Master University League Competition (Shanghai), the 22nd National Robot Competition for College Students, was held at the gymnasium of Songjiang Campus, SUES. The Competition was undertaken by Shanghai University of Engineering Science, attracting more than 450 outstanding student representatives from 35 universities in China, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Southeast University.
The RoboMaster University League (RMUL) Competition, one of the subordinate competitions of the National College Student Robot Competition, initiated and organized by Dajiang Innovation Technology Co., LTD. (DJI), is a robot competition and academic exchange platform specially created for college students across the country. This competition fully integrates “machine vision”, “mechanical control”, “inertial navigation”, “human-computer interaction” and many other robot-related technical disciplines. At the same time, it creatively combines the presentation of E-sports with the robot competition, making the robot confrontation more intuitive and fiercer, attracting the wide attention and participation of numerous science and technology fans and the public.
The Birdiebot team of SUES won the first place in the round robin. It beat the GMaster team of Xi 'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, which was experienced in international competitions, 2-0 in the 16 into 8 knockout matches and the Junlin team of National University of Defense Technology 2-0 in the 8 into 4 knockout matches and entered the final four successfully. The Birdiebot went all the way through the semifinals after defeating the SRM team of Shanghai University 2-0. In the final, the Birdiebot was not afraid to face the Jiaolong team of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, once the champion of the Super Match of National Competition. The Birdiebot beat it 2-0, winning the championship of RoboMaster 2023 Mech Master University League Competition (Shanghai).
“99% of teams get beaten here and come back stronger.” What the participating teams have learned in the Mecha Master competition is not only science and technology, but also how to sum up the experience in time and grow up rapidly.
In recent years, SUES has made a number of achievements and accumulated a lot of technical experience through the Mecha Master University League Competition. It has innovatively developed many scientific research projects, such as developing the engineering robots that can be used for transportation. Through these scientific and technological innovation competitions, the young engineers put what they have learned into practice, consolidating the knowledge of textbooks and also applying it to design innovation.
