On the afternoon of April 26th, SUES and Xinjiang University of Science and Technology held an exchange meeting chaired by Vice President Xia Chunming and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on the 19th floor of the administrative building on Songjiang campus. Li Jiang, Secretary of SUES Party Committee, and Li Tao, Secretary of Xinjiang University of Science and Technology Party Committee, attended the meeting, with relevant functional department heads from both parties.
On behalf of the SUES Party Committee, Secretary Li Jiang warmly welcomed the visit of Secretary Li Tao and his delegation. He pointed out that since 2022, SUES has had exchanges with Xinjiang University of Science and Technology in education and teaching. The achievements of Xinjiang University of Science and Technology in promoting technological innovation and deep integration of industry, academia, and research have provided a good reference for SUES’ reform and development. We hope that both parties can further expand their cooperation projects, promote high-quality development, and better serve national and local strategies.
Secretary Li Tao stated that the establishment of a strategic cooperation relationship between the two universities reflected the patriotism of SUES and its concern and support for the development of border education. We are highly aligned in terms of educational positioning, educational philosophy, disciplinary development, and professional settings. We hope that both sides can strengthen cooperation in disciplinary and professional construction, faculty building, and development, comprehensively increase communication and discussion, and become a new model of university cooperation.
Yin Zhixiang, Director of the Development Planning Department, introduced the development of SUES disciplines. Rao Pinhua, Director of the Academic Affairs Department, introduced the construction of SUES majors and courses. Li Yuanyuan, Dean of School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Hu Bin, Dean of School of Management Studies, Wang Jinguo, Dean of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Xin Binjie, Dean of School of Textiles and Fashion, introduced the program construction and talent cultivation of their schools. Hu Xuemin, Dean of School of Chemical and Textile Engineering of Xinjiang University of Science and Technology, Sun Shengtao, Dean of School of Information Science and Engineering, Yi Longyang, Deputy Director of the Development Planning Department, and Tang Chunfeng, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Department exchanged speeches on talent cultivation, discipline development, professional construction, curriculum construction, and other aspects.
Before the meeting, the Xinjiang delegation visited SUES Automotive Innovation Laboratory, 5G+ Artificial Intelligence Application Joint Innovation Laboratory, Boeing 737-800 Simulator Project, chemical engineering and Process Specialty Laboratory, Textile Chemistry Cleaner Production Engineering Technology Research Center, Clothing Intelligent Customization Laboratory, and Virtual Reality Comprehensive Experiment Center.
