On the morning of May 31, School of Art and Design opened 2023 outstanding graduation design exhibition at Yunjian Granary Creative Park. Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing, heads of relevant functional offices and schools of SUES, representatives from Shanghai Jiachang Industrial Co., Ltd. and other cooperating enterprises attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Yunxian, Party Secretary of School of Art and Design.
Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing indicated in her speech that she hoped the graduates would inherit and carry forward the great spirit of engineering, seize the opportunities given by the time, and move forward bravely in the journey of life. It is also anticipated that School of Art and Design will adhere to the artistic mission of “designing for the people” and train more excellent design talents.
Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing unveiled the education-industry cooperative project of bringing in Shanghai Jiachang Industrial Co., LTD. as a key cooperation unit of the School in the fashion consumer goods industry.
Gao Zhu, Dean of School of Art and Design, expressed in his speech that “creating beauty with the power of wisdom” has always been the common belief of all teachers and students of School of Art and Design. Located in a global metropolis, as a design discipline of engineering universities, it is necessary for the School to embrace emerging technologies, maintain a high sensitivity to realistic problems in the new era, and bear in mind the humanistic and artistic attributes of the design discipline.
Wang Peng, manager of the exterior decoration creating system of the design center of SAIC Datong Automobile Co., Ltd. spoke on behalf of the school-enterprise cooperation units. He fully affirmed the production-education integration project carried out by School of Art and Design around the design of transportation vehicles and their digital cabins, and affirmed the design innovation and research and development ability of the teachers and students of School of Art and Design.
After the opening ceremony, Vice President Zhu Xiaoqing and her delegation appreciated the students’ works, listened to the introduction of graduates and their graduation designs delivered by teachers and students on the scene, exchanged ideas on creating and producing processes of works with teachers and students, and highly praised the humanistic feelings, unique creativity and artistic thinking shown by students of School of Art and Design in their graduation designs.
