On August 13, the 22nd National College Student Robot Competition RoboMaster2023 Mecha Master Super Match was successfully concluded in Shenzhen. More than 3,000 competitors from many universities in China, such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Zhejiang University, competed fiercely on the stage of the national competition, and finally, Team Birdiebot from SUES successfully made it to the top 16 and won the national first prize. This is another self-breakthrough in 2023 following the championship and runner-up of the University League Competition and the third-place winner of the Regional Competition, and it is also a new high after winning the second prize at national level in the 2021 season, once again refreshing the historical record.
During this season, a total of 301 teams competed in a series of events to qualify for the national competition. In the end, Team Jiaolong from Shanghai Jiao Tong University won the national championship, and Team TDT from Northeastern University, Team South China Tiger from South China University of Technology won the second and third place respectively.
RoboMaster Mech Master Super Match, initiated by Shenzhen DJ-Innovations (DJI), is one of the competitions under the National College Student Robot Competition. The competition integrates mechanical design, embedded system design, machine vision, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence and other robot-related technical disciplines. Each game lasts for 7 minutes. The red and blue teams use hero robots, sentinel robots, infantry robots, engineering robots, aerial robots, darts and radar to carry out multi-task and difficult mech battles to test the integrated technology and stability of robots of various arms. The competition also combines the presentation of e-sports with robot competition, bringing visual and innovative impact to the vast number of science and technology fans and the public. RoboMaster Masters has become one of the most influential international robotics competitions with its subversion of traditional competition methods, stunning audio-visual impact, and fierce competitive style.
