SUES Students from School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering Won Two First Prizes in the National Finals of the 17th CIMC “Siemens Cup”

From August 11th to 15th, the national finals of the 17th “Siemens Cup” China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge, CIMC, were held at Lanzhou University of Technology, with 523 teams from 243 universities across the country participating in the competition. Guided by Luo Zhongyuan, Zhang Jing, Xu Dongmei and other teachers from SUES School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, a team composed of Qian Yichao and Xu Yu fromSchool of Electrical Engineering and a team composed of Zhao Tingting and Song Li from School of Electrical Engineering won first prizes in the national finals: one in the field of discrete automation (engineering practice) and one in the field of intelligent production line and collaborative robot. In the competition, SUES students have won 2 first prizes in the national Finals, and 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes and 6 third prizes in East China region.



CIMC “Siemens Cup” is a national Type-A competition under the strategic cooperation framework of Ministry of Education and Siemens. It is China’s largest college student competition in the field of intelligent manufacturing with the longest history. It was founded in 2006 and has a history of 17 years. The 2023 National Preliminary competition attracted nearly 700 universities, 7180 teams, and more than 25,000 teachers and students from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country to participate in. The competition was held thanks to the efforts of 52 co-hosting cities, and its scale and influence reached a record high this year.
