Tarim University Undergraduates Majoring in Textile Engineering Visited SUES for Summer Internship

From July 21st to 27th, 18 undergraduates from Xinjiang Tarim University majoring in textile engineering of 2020 came to School of Textiles and Fashion of SUES for a one-week summer internship led by Ms. Gao Qiuling, their teacher in charge. Aiming to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the students of Tarim University about the textile discipline, help them develop their professional vision, hands-on ability, and scientific literacy, the program sought to promote the friendship between SUES and Tarim University and in-depth cooperation between the two universities in various fields such as talent cultivation.



This summer program had various activities. After touring around the laboratories of School of Textiles and Fashion of SUES and Shanghai BOGE Industrial Cloth Co., all of the 18 students were divided into 8 small groups joining in 4 research groups for further exchange, which are affiliated with School of Textiles and Fashion of SUES. Instructed by the tutors, every group carried out a 5-day research project. At the end, the students reported with PPT slides the progress of their projects, their research results and their achievements during the internship.



The students have made scientific research with some depth revolving 8 projects concerning textile structural coloration technology, human protective textile materials and others. The projects have enabled the students to improve their ability to analyze and solve problems, to combine practice with theories, and to cultivate their group spirits, hard-working spirits and their courage to explore the unknown in a scientific way.



Xin Binjie, Dean of School of Textiles and Fashion, said after the students’ reports that he was very glad to see the fruitful results achieved by the students during their one-week internship. He expressed his hope that the students could integrate the knowledge and experience they gained at SUES into their study and life at Tarim University, and achieve better results in their future study, and actively apply for the postgraduate programs of SUES.
