Orientation activities for international students of degree programs were held at Changning Campus and Songjiang Campus respectively on September 14th and 15th. This year, 157 new international students were admitted to SUES. They come from all over the world, representing the culture, history and future of their respective countries, and will go through a new learning curve in the diverse family of SUES, experiencing Chinese culture, learning from each other, exchanging and exploring together. SUES will provide this group of young, vibrant students with an exciting environment of academic and cultural integration in the next four years.
Li Jiang, Secretary of the CPC SUES Committee and Yu Tao, President of SUES, led the leadership team of SUES to College of International Education (CIE) to visit the international students on the morning of the 15th. They extended their heartfelt welcome to the international students who reported their arrival at the University and communicated with them. The international students were looking forward to the new start of the coming semester, and expressed that they would actively participate in the courses, professional practice programs and various cultural exchange activities organized by SUES to improve their academic level and better understand SUES and China.
After that, Wang Qin, Director of the International Office of SUES and Dean of CIE, communicated with every freshman present. She said, “We are very happy to welcome you to SUES and hope that you can learn from each other, respect each other, and make progress together in the multi-cultural environment at SUES.”
SUES provide all-round support and instructions for international students. Starting next week from that, academic instruction, campus life orientation, and cultural adaptation tutoring for international students were held on both campuses to ensure that everyone blend in smoothly, with their global perspectives broadened, and their cross-cultural communication skills strengthened.
