Mark Cartwright, Deputy Executive Director of Otago Polytechnic Visited SUES

On December 1, Mark Cartwright, Deputy Executive Director of Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand, paid a visit to SUES. Zhou Xiaozhou, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office, presided over the cooperation talks, and relevant leaders of School of Textile and Fashion attended the meeting.


Zhou Xiaozhou welcomed Mark Cartwright, and indicated that Otago Polytechnic and SUES have carried out extensive cooperation in teaching, scientific research and faculty-student exchanges through the platform of Shanghai-Dunedin Sister Cities Program and established deep friendship. This visit is of great significance to promote the cooperation between the two universities.



At the meeting, Qu Hongjian, Vice Dean of School of Textile and Fashion, reviewed the past accomplishments of cooperation between the two universities, and expressed his hope that that further efforts could be made to strengthen the contact, explore more directions of cooperation, and cultivate more talents of fashion design. Cartwright appreciated the previous cooperation between the two universities and looked forward to carrying out more cooperation projects with SUES, promoting academic exchanges, and pushing ahead the cooperation between the two universities in the field of apparel design to a higher level.


Based on the talks, the two sides will make a detailed plan of cooperation and accelerate the renewal process of the agreement. During his visit accompanied by Wang Qin, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Cartwright visited the Art Building and the laboratories of School of Textiles and Fashion to learn about the latest achievements of the School.
