On December 4, Xu Jingjing, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor of Coventry University, UK, and her delegation visited SUES. Wang Qin, Director of the International Office of SUES, Professor Sheng Xiaozhen, Zhou Xiaozhou, Vice Director of the International Office of SUES, Professor Wang Lei, Vice Dean of School of Urban Railway Transportation, and relevant staff received the visitors.
Wang Qin extended a warm welcome to Xu Jingjing and her delegation. She pointed out that SUES has vigorously implemented the three development strategies of strengthening the university with talents, development with characteristics and internationalization, and introduced SUES' academic strengths, international education and achievements in recent years. It is hoped that the two universities will carry out pragmatic and long-term cooperation, deepen the cooperation in faculty-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, personnel training and other aspects through this meeting, create more international education and exchange opportunities for faculty and students of the two universities, and promote further development of cooperation between the two universities.
Xu Jingjing expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and introduced Coventry University's history, program setting, discipline characteristics, international exchanges and other basic information, as well as related student exchange programs. She indicated that Coventry University attaches great importance to cooperation with Chinese universities, and looks forward to providing a wider range of academic resources and reciprocal exchange opportunities for faculty and students of both sides through cooperation with SUES, and invited SUES representatives to visit Coventry University.
Professor Wang Lei introduced the basic situation of School of Urban Railway Transportation and the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in the previous stage. The two sides discussed the mutual recognition of student credits, joint training of undergraduate and graduate students, and various short-term exchanges and other projects, and had in-depth discussions on further strengthening cooperation, which injected new vitality and impetus into the friendly cooperation between the two universities.
During the visit, Xu Jingjing and her delegation also visited relevant laboratories of School of Urban Railway Transportation, and had an in-depth understanding of the training mode, disciplinary characteristics and students' learning experiences.
