On December 15, Conference on International Accreditation and High-quality Development, and the Unveiling Ceremony of European Higher Education Accreditation Research and Consulting Service Center, were hosted by School Planning, Construction and Development Center of Ministry of Education and carried out by SUES. The event was held at Second Lecture Hall of SUES Information Center. President Yu Tao, Vice President Xia Chunming, Pro. Dr. Klaus Kreulich, Vice President of ASIIN Higher Education Accreditation Committee and Vice President of Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften München (HM), and presidents, vice presidents and heads of functional departments of more than 50 universities such as Tongji University and Anhui University, as well as vice deans in charge of teaching affairs and heads of specialties of SUES attended the conference.
President Yu Tao expressed sincere welcome and thanks to the guests on behalf of SUES. He pointed out that SUES has always been committed to the development and construction of Sino-German industry-university-research cooperation, and has carried out a series of practical explorations in Sino-German cooperation on academic programs, the introduction of certification bodies, and the construction of cross-enterprise capability service centers, relying on the Sino-German industry-university-research innovation consortium platform.
Cai Jingmin, Party Secretary of Anhui University, expressed that the key to the development of higher education is to establish a quality assurance system and form a quality culture. The convening of this conference will accelerate the introduction of the concept of European certification on programs, and play a boosting role in the reform of the university curriculum level and the reform of China’s applied talent training model.
President Yu Tao, together with Cai Jingmin, Party Secretary of Anhui University, and Pro. Dr. Klaus Kreulich, Vice President of ASIIN Higher Education Accreditation Committee and Vice President of HM, jointly inaugurated the European Higher Education Accreditation Research and Consulting Service Center. The center will provide consulting and guidance, faculty and student training, and the establishment of a database of certified reviewers for Chinese universities in international certification on programs.
At the meeting, the secretariat of Sino-German industry-university-research Innovation Consortium issued the Action Plan for International Certification of Programs at Chinese Universities. Vice President Pro. Dr. Klaus Kreulich gave a keynote speech entitled “Promoting International Certification on Programs and Establishing a Universal Quality Assurance System on an International Scale – A Case of HM”; Vice President Xia Chunming made a keynote speech on the topic of “Learning from International Paradigms, Creating Chinese Characteristics - Practical Thoughts on the Characteristic Development of Application-oriented Universities from the Perspective of International Accreditation”. Feng Xiao, Director of the Committee of Professors of the Sino-German School of Engineering, Tongji University, made a keynote report entitled “Carrying out Oversea Programs Certification of Universities, Promoting International Education, Cooperation and Exchange”; Zheng Shubin, Dean of SUES School of Higher Vocational Education, shared the cases of SUES programs that have passed international certification.
On the afternoon of December 15, the first symposium on the launch of the international certification on university programs was held, and representatives of relevant universities carried out exchanges and discussions on international certification on programs.
